Built several prototypes connecting the mobile phone to the social web. Kicked off internal “hackfest” program for employees and ran three 24 hour coding events. Based at Nokia headquarters in Finland.

Evaluated social media acquisition targets for Corporate Development. PM for publisher portal in Advertising Systems, and PM for mybloglog.com, a distributed social network and activity stream aggregation service acquired by Yahoo in 2007.

Designed, launched, and ran sales channel for consulting and hosting partners for Movable Type and TypePad products.

In Business Development, I designed and launched a partnership program to embed Factiva API suite into corporate portals. Built and managed relationships with Plumtree, Epicentric, and Microsoft.

As PM, for factiva.com, ran cross-functional team spanning Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance to prioritize, build, and roll out features for flagship product. Successfully migrated majority of customer base from two legacy systems to new service while maintaining revenues.

Started out designing and integrating real-time market data feeds into dealing rooms. Later ran Sales, Marketing, and Product Development staff across Japan and South Korea for Dow Jones Interactive, a news database of over 9,000 premium content sources. Streamlined distributor network in North Asia and managed integration of Dow Jones and Reuters sales teams when Factiva JV was established.

Tokyo Q is one of the longest running online city guides for visitors and residents of Tokyo. We published two editions of a printed compendium in the Tokyo Q Guide to the City.

Installed and maintained PC and Sun UNIX networks for Fixed Income trading floor in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore. Assisted in rollout and configuration of applications and market data platforms. Helped coordinate installation of 600 node network in Tokyo office.

Sales of computer hardware and networking services to foreign financial firms based in Tokyo. Established new business line in network cabling and equipment moves.

Where I got my feet wet. This was when we copied software onto diskettes and actually mailed them to our customers. UPS and Fedex was my T-1 and the Pitney Bowes machine was my interface.
